In February 2020, our client purchased a tour to Tunisia from a tour operator. The tour was fully paid for. However, in March 2020, the COVID-19 coronavirus infection began, the Tunisian government restricted air traffic and introduced restrictions on the entry of tourists. The client was unable to use the tour, in connection with which he demanded that the travel agency cancel the tour and return the payment made.
However, the funds paid by the client for the tour, the travel agency was in no hurry to return, since it did not see its fault in the fact that the trip did not take place. In this regard, we, representing the interests of the client, applied to the Justice Judicial District No. 205 of St. Petersburg with a claim to recover from the travel agency the money paid for the tour and interest.
During the consideration of the case, the travel agency voluntarily paid off the main part of the debt, the remaining amount of debt and interest were recovered by a court decision, which was not appealed by the defendant and came into legal force.
